INFRASTRUCTURE AND CAPABILITIES
The Plant at Tippi
Located in the West Kameng District of Arunachal Pradesh, the facility runs two 9MVA submerged arc furnaces, with the furnace and raw material feeding system designed by RgCON, Visakhapatnam.
Commissioned in 2011, the plant has operated continuously since - with an installed capacity of 15,000 MT per annum.
Why Location Matters
70% grade Ferro Silicon is highly power-intensive to produce. Ferro Silicon plants are only viable where competitively priced power is available.
Arunachal Pradesh is considered the future power house of India, with mega hydel power plants lined up for commissioning—positioning Platinum Alloys with a structural, long-term cost advantage few competitors can match.
Manufacturing Process
Quartz Reduction
Silica is reduced with carbonaceous material in the furnace.
High-Temperature Smelting
The reaction proceeds at approximately 1800°C.
Composition Control
Mill scale is added to control the finished silicon percentage.
Sizing & Dispatch
Product is sized into 10mm–70mm lumps for shipment.
